It is impossible to make good policy decisions based upon inaccurate or misleading data. We who aspire to be public servants must uphold the truth both with respect to the ethics that guide our moral selves and with respect to science and evidence-based facts. Like many other people of science running for office in 2018, I stepped up to run because I care about the facts.signed the pledge because restoring truth and integrity to government is the most important issue for me. I am also a family physician trained in science who wants data-driven solutions to policy decisions. I am dismayed by the undermining of science and ethics exhibited by the Trump Administration.
