I signed the pledge because I know that calm, courageous attention to the truth is what moves our society and communities ahead, one step at a time. In this time of widespread anxiety, some real, much manufactured, our best solutions arise from working with what IS. As a candidate for Congressional District 2 in Oregon, representing mostly-rural Eastern and Southern Oregon, I get to represent people from across the political spectrum. I build bridges between red and blue - this makes me the deep-purple candidate. I know process is as important, and often more important, than content. A mathematics degree and experience as a science teacher inspire me to live out this pledge with integrity each day. Thanks to all who have signed the pledge, and tell others about it!
